This four piece from Indianapolis is fairly fresh, forming the current lineup earlier this year. Tony, who fills the first guitar/vox slot, and Dan who also is opn guitar and sings, originally began as a two piece acoustic project. Erik, on drums, joined the two in time for the CD release, and when Andy joined on bass, Traffic Jam Zombies was born. They did an email interview with me in June/06.
What's going on with the new LP? Where is it being recorded?
Guitars, vocals, and bass are pretty much finished for the first 4 tracks, which are being recorded at Studio B in Noblesville, IN. After that we head to Prime Time Recording in Indianapolis for all new drum tracks and mastering. First will be the pre-release 4 song EP which will be available at any of our shows for free because we love our fans. You will be able to get it from the website for free + shipping. ;-)
The full length LP will be completed in September and will be available in October on our web site, cd baby Amazon etc…

Do you have a general release date for the disc?
October 31st 2006 (we are Zombies after all!).
Promo plans for this disc once it's out?
We’re building a Midwest itinerary right now (Chicago, Detroit, Louisville, Cincy, St. Louis, etc.) in advance of the disc. We will probably be heading up the east coast after that but there is nothing set in stone yet.
Are you looking for label support? What are you looking for in a label?
We really haven’t thought about that. I supposed it would be nice to have some help getting the LP into more hands, but we’re happy doing it ourselves.
How important is it to you to be hands on about all the non musical aspects of Traffic Jam Zombies? (fliers, cd artwork, web design)
We enjoy being hands on with all aspects of our band…from logo and flyer layout to web design and making a group decision on every show.
If you see us at your favorite club, it’s because we wanted to be there with ya!

Do you feel that you have any specific challenges or advantages being from/based in Indianapolis, Indiana?
Indianapolis does not have the booming music scene that you might find in some larger cities. But it helps keep us grounded to be so close knit with the local fans and musicians.
Who are some of your favorite local bands to play shows with?
We’ve played with so many great groups! We really like Say. Those guys are great. Rebuilt are an awesome group of guys as well.
