Blind Army   :   Email Interview with Warren of Blind Army   :   April 17, 2006
1. How did you hook up with Cyclone?
Actually Brad (Cylcone) found us. He sent us an email asking if we were interested in being on his compilation CD. We jumped at the chance and the rest is history. We were one of the first bands to respond.

2. How did recording for the Cyclone comps go?
We had already recorded the two songs and they were on our website. Brad said they would be great for the CD, so he mastered them and included them.

3. How did your music end up in a documentary?
Again the wonders of the internet. A group of local students from a college here in Calgary asked if we could submit some music for them to include in their documentary. We sent them a bunch and they selected an instumental intro part from one of our songs called Not Like You, that we recorded ourselves a few years back.

4. Tell me about What’s Left. When did you originally record/release it?
What's Left has been in our song catalogue for a long time time now. We have about 3 different recordings of it to date. All with 3 different drummers on it. However our vision of it hasn't changed. It was orginally written with our first drummer and has now evolved into what it is today. We released the current version in 2005.

5. Why did you re-record it? Did you re-do all of it?
The previous versions were all recorded by ourselves and were never done in the studio. Also we liked how Leo drummed on it compared to our previous sticksman, so we needed to get him in on it. The guitar and vocal parts have been the same since day one.

6. Where was the second recording done/with who?
As with What's Left, Dead Ringer was recorded at Music Centre Canada here in Calgary. We have recorded a handful of tunes there and will most likely be finishing our CD with them as well.

7. What are your promo plans for this release?
Well the internet obviously plays a big role in promo. But our biggest one would be at our shows.

8. How important is it to you to be hands on about the non musical aspects of the band? (cd artwork, promo stuff)
Too be honest it's not that important at all. We prefer other people to input their ideas and we can select from there. We are all musicians and that's it. We save artwork for artists, pictures for photographers, ect. It's better to have that outside influence to keep things fresh. So if anyboody out there has any ideas feel free to send them our way!!!

9. What drives you to keep working in Blind Army?
The Money.....haha yeah right. No, the chance to create your own music and play it for people is a rare gift that not everyone can do. When you have great company in your band that push each other to create something better than the last time, it makes it all worth while.

We like to ask everyone this one: List any 5 songs in your most current (last listened to) playlist.
How about 14 songs. All from Disturbed's latest CD, Ten Thousand Fists. We may try and cover "Stricken" someday. (We like challenges!)
