The first track, A Summer Day, isn't really classic rock, but it's
not what's boxed as rock now either. More like melodic guitar and a happy
feel. The rain has gone away and everything's ok / I'll just laze away
in my dreams, sums up the general upbeat feel of the song. In The Morning,
the second track is a slower and a little more solemn. The song order keeps
the mood changing, and the first example of this is going from the darker
feel of In the Morning to the very upbeat and dar I say it, inches from twangy,
Golden Lady. Standout tracks for me weren't any of the opening songs actually,
I like Better Life and Alive and Doing Fine, both songs are a really nice
middle road from the full out acoustic singer/songwriter sound and a rock
