The Presentation: 4 song EP available for download here. Track #1 - Back Home: This track has that first little catchy hook that is closely followed by Josh's very friendly voice. And really, for a song that's lyrically meant to remind us that though life sucks we can go home again and start over, so suck it up, suck it up, suck it up, suck it up, suck it up and admit defeat and go home, a friendly voice is the only voice that would work. My favorite kind of acoustic music, with passion, heart and fun! Track #2 - Beautiful: This is sweet. It's been a while since I've heard a love song that didn't give me the impression the songwriter was off to go slit his wrists in the corner, you know? You give me hope / and take me home / and show me something, you show me something, you show me something beautiful Track #3 - Paranoia: Another love song, and it's a nice contrast lyrically to the second track. Basically, how do you tell / the one you love / that she's better off alone? / and how do you tell her the ring she wears / is going to bind her to hell?, yeah I think that speaks for itself, it's sad but not overly so, and the guitar playing is a nice balance to it. Track #4 - Hero: Closing the EP with a more upbeat track, Hero is one of those songs that is brimming with confidence and I love that, I'll be there to rescue you / I'll be your knight in shining armour. |
