This is wow. Ok, this is the first issue I've read and the writing
is awesome. It opens by taking us through part of the mental mayhem
that ensues once you've hit your head on pavement while skateboarding
without a helmet. And as Andy started to remember things, he wrote himself
notes
and has included them. While the quality of writing and the content
in the first piece could stand easily as a zine itself, the pieces
that make
up
the rest of the zine he describes as a chronicle of some of the
things he's done in the last few years. Pieces on leaving college
and friends, his internship
with the United Steelworkers of America, four weeks on the road
with a bookmobile (including a scary incident on the highway), some
reviews/descriptions of radical
biographies and autobiographies. Rounding out this issue is a really
interesting piece titled The Great West Philadelphia Food Co-op
Strike of 2002. Excellent
read.
