Week of August 26, 2005
A few weeks ago I was watching The Wedge as I normally do on a Friday night, and I caught the very end of a video, when I squinted my eyes to see who it was by, it was none other than The Cliks I was really upset that I didn't get to see the whole video, unfortunately this was the 4AM repeat show, so there was no chance of catching it again later on. So I have an idea, everyone request Different Girl by The Cliks on The Nations Music station. Normally, I don't support Much Music, but this video was originally aired on The Wedge and everyone knows how much I love that. And while I especially don't run out and tell everyone to watch muchondemand, but this is a special case. I feel so dirty writing this but, email ondemand@muchmusic.com and put Different Girl by The Cliks in the subject line. More Cliks news, they have a show tomorrow (August 26, 2005) at the Gladstone in Toronto (1214 Queen st. West, Corner of Dufferin and Queen) tickets are $10
Fembots are having a release party in Toronto at the Supermarket, 228 Augusta (Kensington Market) on Friday September 23rd. $10 for tickets, check Ticket Master or Rotate This
Set Yourself on Fire was released in Europe last week, so of course, the next thing that needs to be done is touring. Stars will be in Europe from August 25 to September 15. After which they'll come back to North America and do an American tour with Death Cab For Cutie
Broken Social Scene has a CD coming out on October 4, 2005. You can download 7/4 (shoreline) for free at Galleryac.com This album is available in CD, vinyl and digital formats. It features members of Apostle of Hustle, Stars, Feist, Metric, Do Make Say Think, Raising the Fawn, The Dears, and K-os
In other release party news Eden Ants has one coming up, on the 9th of September they'll be at the Horseshoe Tavern cover is $6, and it's a 19+ show. I'm told there is an endless supply of cotton candy, which is always a bonus.
