Terra Naomi

Ever since Terra Naomi could talk she's been singing, she was playing piano at 4, and the french horn by age 8. When she was younger--8 years old--she told some of her classmates she'd be a singer one day, they laughed. Typical thing for a bunch of 8 year olds to do, but she proved them all wrong, and look where she is now. It took her quite a few steps to get here, as it does with everything else. She went to college for classical music and opera, there, she realized that she totally didn't fit in. All her friends were in bands, and while she wrote a lot of poetry she still really wanted to start writing and making her own music. It took her a while, because as I'm sure we all know, life does get in the way, big time. She was at her parents house for a while, and then finally jumped and moved to New York

Now that she was in New York she could finally jump-start her career, and that's just what she did. When she first started to preform, even in small venues, she was a nervous wreck. Couldn't eat for hours before the show, shaking in the cab rides before shows.
She finished recording a demo a while back, to pass around to get the word out, and it's very different from her first recording. This time there were other musicians, a studio, and more than one mic. I must say, that I absolutely love it, and it's in my CD player at least a couple times a day.
She's been on the road touring for the past while, and not just touring to venues, she's been everywhere, even in high schools.

A particular High School student described her as a mix of Alicia Keys, Norah Jones and Alanis morissette. Terra agrees with this, but she would probably also add in Carol King, Joni Mitchell or Laura Nyro. I personally would add in some Sarah Mclachlan. But it doesn't matter who she sounds like, because she is Terra Naomi, and she's amazing.
Her songs are very easy to associate with, even if it's about her own personal experiences, everyone goes through these things, relationships, drugs, love, sex, pain, joy. As most of us can probably relate to, songs come to her when she's driving, however it's kind of hard to write and drive, and when she's not sigh a sigh of satisfaction. Which she puts it, "luckily, doesn't happen too often!"

While she's on the road a lot, she isn't Wonder Woman, so she does need to go back home and just take it easy. Her home is Los Angeles, and even her downtime includes going to shows of friends that are musicians. She tries to stay away from the L.A music scene for the most part, as she describes it as crazy, and full of lots of bullshit. She's met a lot of genuine, loving people there, and she certainly doesn't take them for granted, because a lot of other people she has encountered have been there just to suck the energy out of her, and drag her down..she stays far away from them now.

When she is on the road, she doesn't get to stay in one place for long, however a couple of places have stuck in her head, such as Austin TX, and Seattle. She doesn't have much time, as

she gets in town in the afternoon, get to a radio station to play on air, get to the venue, play, sleep, and run around like a madwoman where she eventually finds herself in the car driving to the next town.
Already she has achieved quite a lot, working with one of the top producers in the industry, and she has other wonderful people working with her. Also, the people who contact her and tell her she's helped them through her music. She loves hearing from kids in high school, and talking with them. She never really had anyone who understood her back then, being lonely, depressed and miserable can take a toll, but now all of that is sort of paying off, she's helping people everyday by just expressing herself through something she loves doing.
Now, she loves preforming, however now she has some different intentions now that she has a clear head, having passed the preformance anxiety. Her goals are to reach people through her music, which she's clearly doing already.
