Aodi

In less then a year, Aodi has gone from three guys screwing around with a bass, drums and a guitar producing less then favorable tunes to a well tuned three piece punk band producing music that you'd add to your playlist without thinking much about it. Long story short, they used to suck and now they don't.

It all started when Nate met Ryan working at some crappy place downtown and Jeremy seems to have just appeared. Their early efforts are what paved the way for their new sound. They've recorded three demos, more accurately, says Nate "three very small home produced cheap demos. One recorded by a hip hop band with a computer. One was done live by us with a 4 track. And our newest one was done by a local record label / band / venue / booking agent / promoter. They're called the Warner House in Cincinnati. Pretty cool bunch of people."

Before they jump into recording a full length for the masses, Aodi's master plan is to play everywhere and anywhere they can to get the word out about the band. "We've got the songs, instruments, a demo and some love", says Nate. I think with the way their sound is going that's all they're going to need for now.

With a tour approaching in 2003 and a vehicle, shirts, stickers, a loyal roadie (Adam) and all the other touring essentials, Aodi are far from where they were last year. They've still got some loose ends to tie up for the tour, like getting their contacts in order and saving some money. Rumor has it Adam's got an addiction to porn, yet another expense for the tour. But I guess loyal roadies are hard to find, so one with some porn issues really isn't all that bad.

To top it all off, Aodi finally has a headquarters at Homer Haus. Nate mentioned to keep an eye out for other bands popping in like Flogging Molly, Andrew WK and Reel Big Fish (not to name drop or anything).

It looks like Nate, Ryan and Jeremy will be able to reach their goals within Aodi after all. Ryan will become a respectable drummer and get his ass out of Cincinnati, Nate can conquer the world through music and Jeremy can squash all those cults (he really hates cults). This isn't going to happen overnight, but I really feel the change in their music in such a short time can only mean amazing things for these guys. I'd give them a tour or two and another EP before they're officially ready, just don't forget the name. Aodi. Got that? Aodi.
