Bleak Anthem - EP 2

Four tracks on this one, all high adrenaline and full of energy. Bleak Anthem's second release is proof they're growing, not only as musicians, but as song-writers. My favorite on this CD is San Dimas High School Soccer Sucks, it's especially fitting considering that song was ranked #2 on MP3.com in their hardcore punk genre. It's catchy without being overly poppy, a definite radio hit. Albino Kangaroo is an awesome song, but hard to break down. It's new school with a kick, I bet this one is fun to hear live. Jim Wears Keds is fast paced and upbeat and makes me think of summer (not sure why, though). Mouse With a Machine Gun was re-recorded for this CD, too. This, even more than the first EP is worth picking up. They've even made it as easier than ordering online...you can pick up a NetCD of this album here, for 4 bux. |
