Dead Mand's Choir - Out With the Trash

There are bands who play punk rock, and there are bands who play punk rawk. If you're not sure of the difference listen to your favorite punk rock album, then put on Dead Man's Choir's Out With the Trash and you'll say 'Ohhhh, I get it.' This band (especially with this album) is everything you love about *real* punk rawk without the horrible recordings and shitty cover art (the cover of this album is a pic, but the back cover and the cd image itself are actually really nice). Out With the Trash is the eighth release from this Southern California five-piece, they are a strong and dedicated group and it comes off in their music. Reminiscent of 70's punk without being a rip off band, this album reminds me of The Dead Boys with a twist (I hate to say this, because everybody does, but it's so right on). While there is nothing wrong with being compared to The Dead Boys, I think although Dead Man's Choir do share the same general theme and feel, they stick out with a distinctive sound and their own personal style. Make no mistake, Dead Man's Choir is not a 70's punk rip off band, the only real way to get the feel is to hear them.
