Faceplant - It's the Pigs

Think punk-ska, but not oi, add more feeling (and talent) behind the guitars, songs that do *not* sound the same, and a lead singer with more energy than me on speed and you've got Faceplant's new CD, It's the Pigs. Nine tracks on this CD, with some leaning more towards punk and others with a ska taste. More than one person has heard this and asked, 'You're listening to Rage again?'. I think Bitch About and Forced are the best tracks on the CD for the Rage comparison, but I feel it all over the album. Faceplant is not a Rage riff-off or even a band trying to emulate Rage, but the intensity and general feel of Chris' voice paired with Sunny's explosive guitar, make your mind turn to Rage. Then songs like Big Time and Riot throw you another way, far more melodic parts than the rest of the album. Put Down is my fave on this CD, the energy, the lyrics, and the guitar all do it for me. This is a great song to both hear the Rage influence and the originality they add to the style. All Faceplant need now is exposure, because as soon as you hear them you'll be hooked.
