After two full length albums, six singles, four splits and apperances on 14 comps, plus two samplers, The Manges have more than made a home in punk rawk. They have managed to get it down to a fine art, and this album is proof of that. Hailing from (and residing in) Italy, they are not spawn from the hardcore scene that most people wrongly assume encompasses all punk music in Italy, they are old skool punk rawk. The disc is kicked off with one of the catchiest songs, I'm a Monkey, it's got guitar that oozes rawk and a little oi flavor. Miss Evil and Rumble in Chinatown rock my socks too, I met her in a club downtown / she left me drunk in chinatown. Anyone who's into indie rawk and hasn't heard The Manges should check them out, they're a great sample of what's going on in Italy right now. |
