Voyd - It Doesn't Pay to be Gay...or Anything Else the Bewildered Herd Deams Deviant

NetCD for $8 at mp3.com
Sixteen tracks on this one, three of them live. A four piece hailing from Saskatoon, they are heavy and original. My favorite song on this one is Can We Find a Plot of Land to Call Our Own?, it is the calmest song on the album and I this song shows Kevin's vocals in a smoother light. They are reminiscent of Nirvana circa Incesticide, especially on Rock and Roll Martyrs/Junior Pantherz, then they sound more new school on Ripples in the Upsidedown Lake of Voyd.
The live tracks; The Bottom, The First Gay Rabbit and Yellow Bile are gritty in that way we all love so much. Once bands put out their furst crisp album, they rarely go back to give you something dirty, it's great these guys threw on three of these tracks. You can pick up the NetCD for 8 bux at their mp3.com page.
