This is a cd that I'll be playing again. And again and again. The first track, How Callous is the Sound is catchy and upbeat without being 'poppy', can't have that. In the insert, instead of Bob being listed as 'vocals' he's listed as 'breath', and you can almost feel it on Kissing Ugly, the vocals are powerful, and Brian Farrell on piano (!) added that intangible element. Teenage Girls have their more mellow moments, American Beauty, My First Ballad, Come: She's Lost Her Way, and the not really melodic, but slower, calmer song, The Sound of Your Voice One Week Before You Die, all add necessary balance to the other five tracks. 9 songs, plus the hidden track, for $10, here http://www.teenagestyle.com |
